Our vision and values

We all belong and can contribute.

That is our vision here at Grit. We’ve spent over thirty years creating opportunities for people to break through their limitations, and go on to lead flourishing lives and build connected communities.

We believe that when you change your thinking, you can change your world. This is what our programmes are designed to do.

We work with young people and the adults that support them to change the way they think, and so

radically improve the outcomes they achieve.

We work with people’s assets – their talents, passions and networks – to dismantle those self-limiting beliefs that focus on what is missing, what is wrong, what needs to be fixed, the deficit mindset.

Our starting point is that you already have everything you need to be a thriving and contributing part of your community.

We’ll work with you until you can see that too.

“The Grit training was challenging, different, pertinent, and impressive. It sees young people as possibilities — this is excellent and rare.”

Our Values.

Responsibility.

We choose to be responsible for our own lives. We are accountable and answerable for ourselves and are committed to realising our personal and organisational goals.

Possibility.

We see beyond the predictable and actively seek out new possibilities where there may appear to be none. We stand for the possibility of all people getting the opportunity to thrive - so we will always be willing to ask, ‘what else, how else, who else?’

Self-expression.

We are committed to communicating clearly, honestly and with compassion. We are willing learners in this art.

Community.

We are all part of building and sustaining a supportive work community. This is centred around connection, collaboration and appreciation, in which everyone contributes and is open to contribution.
