Ellie Garraway

Ellie is our Chief Executive and started out in the theatrical world before arriving at Grit in 2000.

Originally a practitioner, she quickly turned her hand to creating our work in schools, and has been designing and developing programmes ever since. She has a passion for seeing people liberated from their limitations and it is this that continues to fascinate and motivate her.

Made Head of Operations in 2008, Chief Operating Officer in 2013 and CEO in 2020. Ellie has recently gained an MSc in Positive Psychology and an MBA from Warwick University Business School. She is also a Level 5 qualified Transformational Coach.

She is a mum of two brilliant teenagers, runs long distances for fun and loves a good read.
